How Did the Church of Almighty God Come Into Existence?

    Like the churches of Christianity, the Church of Almighty God came into existence because of the work of God become flesh. The churches of Christianity came to be because of the appearance and work of the Lord Jesus become flesh, and the Church of Almighty God came to be because of the appearance and work of the incarnate Almighty God of the last days. Thus, churches throughout the ages have been produced because of the appearance and work of God become flesh. The work of each step of God’s incarnation expresses many truths, and many people come to accept and follow God because of these truths expressed by God, thus giving rise to the churches. From this it can be seen that the churches are formed from those who accept the work of God and follow God. These gatherings of God’s chosen ones are called churches. The churches of Christianity were produced by the appearance and work of the incarnate Lord Jesus two thousand years ago. The Lord Jesus preached, “Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Mat 4:17), and He did the work of redemption, and expressed the truths that the people of the Age of Grace should put into practice and enter into, many people then began to believe in and follow the Lord, and thus the churches of that time came into being. Afterward, the gospel of the Lord Jesus spread to every country and territory, until the last days when it had spread to the ends of the earth, and Christian churches thus emerged in every country. These were the churches of the Age of Grace. During the final stages of the last days, the incarnate Almighty God appears and works in mainland China. Upon the foundation of the work of redemption of the Lord Jesus during the Age of Grace, Almighty God carries out the work of “judgment to begin at the house of God” (1Pe 4:17) prophesied in the Bible. To all mankind, Almighty God reveals all the mysteries of God’s six-thousand-year management plan, and expresses all truths for the purification and salvation of mankind. Because of the appearance and work of Almighty God of the last days, many people from every sect and denomination of the religious world, people who have believed in the Lord for many years, have finally heard the voice of God and seen that the Lord Jesus has come and has carried out the work of judgment of the last days. They have verified that Almighty God is the return of the Lord Jesus, and because of this they have accepted Almighty God’s work of the last days. In mainland China, at least several million people (tens of millions according to statistics from the Chinese Communist Government) have accepted and now follow Almighty God. Thus, the Church of Almighty God is entirely the result of the appearance and work of Almighty God. It was personally established by Almighty God, and not by any person. Every Christian in the Church of Almighty God fully recognizes that Almighty God is the return of the Lord Jesus, Christ of the last days, and the appearance of God. The Christians of the Church of Almighty God pray to the name of Almighty God. What they read, listen to, and fellowship are the words of Almighty God, and what they hold to are all the truths expressed by Almighty God. These truths are the way of everlasting life brought by God during the last days. In His work, the incarnate God of the last days also personally appointed and testified to the man used by God, that he might cooperate in the work of God—just as when the Lord Jesus worked, He personally chose and appointed the twelve apostles. These people who are used by God, however, merely cooperate in God’s work, and they are incapable of working in God’s stead. The churches were not established by them, and the one whom God’s chosen ones believe in and follow is not those who are used by God. The churches of the Age of Grace were not set up by Paul and the other apostles, but produced by the work of the Lord Jesus; they were personally established by the Lord Jesus. Likewise, the Church of Almighty God of the last days was also not set up by the man used by God, but was born from the work of Almighty God. It was personally established by Almighty God, and is shepherded by Himself; the man used by God merely waters, provides for, and guides the churches, performing his duty. Although God’s chosen ones are led, watered, and provided for by the man used by God, the One whom God’s chosen ones believe in and follow is Almighty God—which is a fact that no one can deny. Most in the Church of Almighty God are people from different sects and denominations who have believed in the Lord for many years. They all understand the Bible, and in these various sects and denominations they testify that the Lord Jesus has come, that He is Almighty God, and has done the work of judgment of the last days. As a result of seeing that the words of Almighty God are the truth, and the voice of God, many people come to accept Almighty God. They are the first group of people who are caught up before God. The Church of Almighty God was born of people of Christianity, Catholicism, and other sects and denominations who accepted the name of Almighty God. Today, most people from various sects and denominations have begun to investigate Almighty God’s work of the last days, thus fulfilling the prophecy in the Bible that “all nations shall flow to it” (Isa 2:2). Ultimately, all those who truly believe in God shall return to Almighty God; this is inevitable, for it was long since planned by God, it is God’s decree, and no one can change it!

What Is the Difference Between Christianity and the Church of Almighty God?

Christianity and the Church of Almighty God believe in the same God. People who understand the history of religion know that Judaism in Israel was born of the work that Jehovah God did in the Age of Law. Christianity, Catholicism, and Eastern Orthodoxy were all churches that emerged after the incarnate Lord Jesus did the work of redemption. The Church of Almighty God came to be when God became flesh during the last days to do the work of judgment.

The Origin and Development of the Church of Almighty God

In the Age of Grace, the Lord Jesus promised to His followers, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:3). He also prophesied, “For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines even to the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be” (Matthew 24:27). In the last days, as promised and foretold by Himself, God has again become flesh and descended to the East of the world—China—to do the work of judgment, chastisement, conquest, and salvation using the word, on the foundation of the redemption work of the Lord Jesus. In this, the prophecies of the Bible that “Judgment begins with the house of God” and “He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches!” have also been fulfilled. God’s work of the last days has ended the Age of Grace and ushered in the Age of Kingdom. As the gospel of the kingdom of Almighty God spread rapidly in Mainland China, the Church of Almighty God came into being. As proven by facts, the Church of Almighty God came into being entirely as a result of God’s work of the last days, and was not established by any man. This is because the chosen people in the Church of Almighty God pray in the name of Almighty God, obey His work, and accept all the truths expressed by Him. Thus it is evident that these chosen people believe in Christ who is incarnated in the last days, the practical God who is the Spirit realized in the flesh, instead of believing in a man. Outwardly, Almighty God is nothing more than an ordinary Son of man, but in substance He is the embodiment of God’s Spirit and is the truth, the way, and the life. His work and word are the direct expression of the Spirit of God and are the appearance of God in person. Therefore, He is the practical God who is incarnated.

In 1991, Almighty God, Christ of the last days, began to officially perform His ministry in China. Then, He expressed millions of words and began the work of judgment of the great white throne in the last days. Just as Almighty God says, “The work of judgment is God’s own work, so it must naturally be done by God Himself; it cannot be done by man in His stead. Because judgment is the conquering of man through the truth, it is unquestionable that God still appears as the incarnate image to do this work among men. That is to say, in the last days, Christ shall use the truth to teach men around the earth and to make all truths known to them. Because of the appearance and utterances of Christ of the last days, ever more people who thirst for and seek the truth have been conquered and purified by the word of Almighty God, and have seen in God’s judgment and chastisement the appearance of God and the return of the Redeemer.

The Origin of the Eastern Lightning’s Prosperity

Each and every time the Eastern Lightning is mentioned, many brothers and sisters in the Lord feel perplexed: Why is it that as the religious community as a whole becomes increasingly desolate and degenerate, as each denomination becomes increasingly guarded and conservative in condemning and banishing the Eastern Lightning, not only is the Eastern Lightning not becoming desolate and ebbing, but surging like unstoppable billows, sweeping across mainland China? What Almighty God Christ of the last days brings is the judgment work that changes man’s disposition and cleanses him, so that mankind may achieve salvation and be perfected. For this reason, even if every religious sect in the entire world resists, attacks, persecutes, blasphemes, or condemns God incarnate of the last days or His work, there is no one and no force that can ever obstruct or suppress what He wishes to achieve. Many people believe that anything condemned by most people can’t be the true way, but does this viewpoint accord with the truth? Think back to the Age of Grace when God came in the flesh to begin His new work in Judea. From start to finish He was persecuted, blasphemed, and condemned by the Jewish religious community. They did everything they could to put the Lord Jesus to death. In the end, they colluded with Rome to have the Lord Jesus captured and they nailed the merciful Lord Jesus to the cross. Even upon the resurrection and ascension to heaven of the Lord Jesus, they still fabricated all sorts of rumors and framed and slandered against John, Paul, and the other apostles and disciples, calling them “the Sect of the Nazarenes” and “heretics and cultists.” The Jewish religious community did everything possible to hunt down and persecute the disciples of the Lord Jesus. But God’s wisdom always exploits and builds upon the tricks of Satan; how could His work be obstructed or destroyed by Satan? It is because of the Roman Empire’s wanton persecution and expulsion that the disciples were compelled to flee to various countries and so too did the salvation of the Lord Jesus spread far and wide and to the ends of the earth. Brothers and sisters let us consider: Why did so many people resist the Lord Jesus and oppose His way back then? Could it be because the Lord Jesus wasn’t bringing the true way? Could it be because what the disciples and apostles of the Lord Jesus of that time were spreading wasn’t God’s salvation? Could it be that what the people abandoned and resisted wasn’t God’s way? Surely we can’t weigh the true way based on how many people endorse it? Do not consider something as the false way because the majority of people oppose it. As long as it is God’s work, even if the entire world opposes it and forsakes it, the true way brought by God cannot be denied; there are no exceptions. If we believe in God and have followed Him for many years yet do not understand God’s work, it is easy for us to be deceived and bound by the various specious fallacies and rumors spread around by Satan. To turn from a believer into a follower of Satan, to serve God but also resist Him, doesn’t this just bring grief and sorrow to a person? Many people do not study the true way with a humble and searching heart, they just follow the herd and do what everyone else does. No matter how other people judge or attack God and His work, they merely parrot those same words and follow blindly. This is a very dangerous thing. If they persist in this way they will ultimately find themselves on a path of no return. Long ago, when the disciples of the Lord Jesus preached the gospel at the temple and were met with opposition from the masses, a man called Gamaliel, a teacher of the law, admonished the Jewish people, “And now I say to you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nothing: But if it be of God, you cannot overthrow it; lest haply you be found even to fight against God” (Act 5:38-39). Shouldn’t this also serve as a warning to today’s believers? Now, in these last days, God has once again become flesh in China—a nation where atheists and revolutionaries wield power and the very nest of the great red dragon—to begin His judgment work that begins from His house. God issues forth truths to judge and cleanse mankind, the purpose being to save man completely from the dark influence of Satan. In the end, they will be brought into His kingdom by God and gain a beautiful destination. However, the historical tragedy of Jewish resistance to the Lord Jesus has once again appeared on the stage. As God does His new work of the last days that strikes back against the notions of people from the various religious sects, these people do not welcome the return of the Lord Jesus. Instead, they spread all manner of twisted teachings and fallacious rumors. They slander God incarnate and His work, condemning the work of God incarnate of the last days as an “evil cult” or “heresy.” They even go so far as to collude with the Chinese Communist government to persecute and arrest God incarnate. Their deeds are no different than those of the Jewish religious community that once framed and persecuted the Lord Jesus. Nonetheless, the true way is, after all, the true way. God’s work, after all, is God’s work. Regardless of how the various religious sects resist and condemn God’s work of the last days, the good tidings of His kingdom have nonetheless spread throughout mainland China, shaking the religious community and the entire world to the very core.

Why can the “Eastern Lightning” spread all over Mainland China despite bitter opposition?

When it comes to the Eastern Lightning, many brothers and sisters in the Lord will look upset and feel afraid. Yet most of them have such doubt in the heart: why has the Eastern Lightning spread all over Mainland China like mightily overwhelming surging waves rather than falling into desolation and decay even despite the strong defense and condemnation and rejection against it from all denominations and sects? The fact completely baffles the religious people. Actually, the reason is very simple. The Eastern Lightning, called by all denominations and sects, is no other than the Savior Lord Jesus returning upon a white cloud in the last days, the real and true God Himself who has become flesh again. Almighty God—Christ of the last days—has brought the work of judgment by which to change man’s disposition and purify, save, and perfect man, and expressed the truth that can be new life of man. Therefore, even if all denominations and sects in the whole world oppose, attack, persecute, blaspheme, and condemn the incarnate God of the last days and His work, what God wishes to achieve can never be thwarted or oppressed by anyone. God’s almightiness and wisdom can never be surpassed by any forces of Satan.

Several days later, the brothers and sisters of the Church of Almighty God paid me a visit. They asked me, “Brother, have you read the book? If you have any questions, we can fellowship about them together.” I said, “Well, here you are. I’ve read about the genealogy by Matthew in this book, which says there are human impurities and human ideas, but I didn’t understand it. Paul says that all the scriptures are given by inspiration of God. Since the Bible is inspired by God, it should be from God.How come there are human ideas and human impurities in it?” A sister then said, “Actually, I had the same thought as you that the Bible is breathed by God. Not until I had read the words of Almighty God did I know that the Bible is not entirely given by inspiration of God, where there are human ideas and human impurities. This way, I was able to truly put aside the Bible, treating it correctly. Let’s read a passage of Almighty God’s words. Almighty God says, ‘Today, people believe the Bible is God, and that God is the Bible. So, too, do they believe that all the words of the Bible were the only words God spoke, and that they were all said by God. Those who believe in God even think that although all of the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament were written by people, they were all given by inspiration of God, and a record of the utterances of the Holy Spirit. This is the erroneous interpretation of people, and it does not completely accord with the facts. In fact, apart from the books of prophecy, most of the Old Testament is historical record. Some of the epistles of the New Testament come from people’s experiences, and some come from the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit; the Pauline epistles, for example, arose from the work of a man, they were all the result of the Holy Spirit’s enlightenment, and they were written for the churches, were words of exhortation and encouragement for the brothers and sisters of the churches. They were not words spoken by the Holy Spirit—Paul could not speak on behalf of the Holy Spirit, and neither was he a prophet, much less did he see visions. His epistles were written for the churches of Ephesus, Philadelphia, Galatia, and other churches. And thus, the Pauline epistles of the New Testament are epistles that Paul wrote for the churches, and not inspirations from the Holy Spirit, nor are they the direct utterances of the Holy Spirit. They are merely words of exhortation, comfort, and encouragement that he wrote for the churches during the course of his work. So, too, are they a record of much of Paul’s work at the time. They were written for all of the brothers and sisters in the Lord, and were in order to make the brothers and sisters of all of the churches at the time follow his advice and abide by all of the ways of the Lord Jesus’ (‘Concerning the Bible (3)’ in The Word Appears in the Flesh).” After reading God’s words, the sister fellowshiped with me patiently and said, “Almighty God’s words have made it very clear that not all the scriptures are God’s utterances. For example, Paul’s epistles, are merely his own knowledge of experiences and some enlightenments of the Holy Spirit and in them there are human opinions and human impurities. They are neither God’s utterances nor completely from the Holy Spirit. Only the words spoken by God Himself are completely God’s utterances, that is to say, only the words of Jehovah transmitted by Moses and the prophets, the words of the Lord Jesus, and the prophecies revealed to man by the Holy Spirit, like the prophecies in the Revelation, are the words of God. Except these, none is God’s word. So we couldn’t treat human words, human opinions and some enlightenments and illuminations of the Holy Spirit as the words of God. Such is blasphemy against God, for God is God and man is man. Thus, we know that not every scripture is given by inspiration of God.”
